The Teachable Moments conference is taking place on Thursday, June 24th for grades KG-Grade 4, and Friday, June 25th for Grades 5-8. We have lined up some stimulating speakers for these events. We will start off this two-day event with a talk from Shaykh Omar Subedar about being a proud Muslim. This will be followed by an engaging story session by Reshma Khandwala. We will end the event with a fun and interactive Kahoot! session. We look forward to seeing our little ones join this session and benefit from the engagement.

The second day of the event is geared towards older students and the focus of this session will be Islamaphobia. Syed Hassan will speak on ways to identify, react, and prevent Islamophobia which has become a prevailing concern in our community. Safia Saleh, Author of “Islamophobia: deal with it in the name of peace” will also join the session to provide her thought-provoking insight and to share excerpts from her book. We will end this session with an interactive Kahoot! session.
